The Mendeleev probe series features device contact tips made from a proprietary solid precious metal alloy, usable without an additional plating process. This method of construction offers a more robust structure that is capable of withstanding the extreme cleaning techniques associated with the testing of SAC-105 BGA and NiPdAu QFN packages. Measured against typical contact materials, this alloy offers less wear than beryllium copper as well as increased hardness and superior electrical conductivity compared to carbon steel. By permitting the most aggressive cleaning techniques, the usable life of the probe can be extended by as much as an order of magnitude.
